AAW 2025 OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

All activities have a minimum number to proceed.

• Slieve Carron Pullough Hike in the Heart of the Burren

  • €85 (includes light lunch) Maximum 30 people each day

  • Offered Sunday (20th), and Wednesday (23rd)

  • Moderately taxing hike on rocky terrain

• Farm Visit in the Burren Region, Sheep Dog and Irish Soda Bread Demonstrations

  • VIsit on a local farm, meet the animals and learn about traditional bread

• Cliffs of Moher and Inis OÍrr

  • €95 (includes box lunch)

  • Offered Monday (21st) and Wednesday (23rd)

  • View the famous Cliffs and go to the island via ferry for a visit to a charming island to tour by foot or bike.

• A special day in Midleton, Co Cork

  • Learn how the Choctaw Native American people from the southeastern United States, The Irish Famine and Irish Whiskey are all connected!

• Killarney

  • Visit the village of Adare, tour Killarney in a jaunting car. Tour a Victorian home and visit Muckross House and its various workshops. There is time to stroll as well.

• Galway City

  • €80

  • Enjoy a 2 hour guided walking tour of the city and time to eat and stroll on your own

• Irish Family-run Hanly Woolen Mill Experience with discounted shopping, followed by private tour of Birr Castle with the Rosse Family

  • €95 (includes lunch)

  • Offered Monday (21st), Thursday (24th), Friday (25th) and Monday (28th)

  • A very special day to meet two local families with a global reach for different reasons ...The Hanly Family and five generation manufacture of Irish fine woolen textiles. The Rosse family are descendants of the Parsons family, renowned for their pioneering work in science, engineering, and astronomy over 400 years.

• Golf

  • €195 per person

  • Includes lunch and an AAW official golf shirt

  • Sunday (20th), Monday (21st), and Wednesday (23rd)

  • Prizes will be awarded and singles are welcome.

• Afternoon Tea in Limerick (taxi or bus involved)

  • Approx. €36 each (minimum 10; maximum 35 ppl)

  • Includes three delicious types of mini sandwiches, sausage rolls, mini fruit and plain scones, and three delightful mini desserts, accompanied by tea or coffee.

• Brewery Experience (taxi or bus involved)

  • Approx. €21 each (minimum 10; maximum 20 ppl)

  • Learn about the long history of brewing in Limerick, and the story of Treaty City Brewery in an historic building dating from the 1700s.

  • Hear from a Master Brewer, who will explain all about the brewing process and ingredients used to create Ireland's finest craft beer.

• Whiskey Tasting Experience (taxi or bus involved)

  • Approx. €25 each (minimum 4; maximum 20 ppl)

  • You’ll learn how local ingredients and traditional methods influence the unique flavor profiles of Irish whiskeys.

• Onsite Dining at Campus Restaurants

  • Several university restaurants are willing to take reservations and work with large groups. More info will be available soon.
